Daycare Centers
We support daycare centers and keep children in school because it has been shown that cognitive stimulation at an early age ensures that children are better prepared for school. Young children's emotional, social, and physical development directly affects their overall development and the adults they will become.
We believe that Investing in young children is of paramount importance to maximize their future well-being. A Reaching Hand provides financial and operational support to Daycare Centers in severely poverty-stricken communities so that the caregivers can devote their time to stimulating cognitive childhood development.
Keep a child at daycare to ensure a safe, nurturing, and loving place for only:
$15 per month

Creative Art
We support creative art because art supports a child's physical, social, cognitive, emotional, imaginative, and experiential development.
A Reaching Hand runs creative art therapy classes for over 50 children on Saturday mornings, followed by a nutritious meal and treats - feeding body, mind, and spirit!
Every session starts with breathing and relaxation exercises. A lot of the children have alcoholic fetal syndrome or PTSD.
These art classes provide a safe and supportive space for these children who live in a very dangerous community. Educators confirm that art classes help improve their academic performance and self-confidence. The children come from unemployed and abusive households, and for many, it will be their only meal for the day.
Support one child to attend art therapy classes three times per month:
$2.60 per month

Child and Adult Education
We support child and adult education because it is a fundamental right and expands opportunities and freedom to make informed decisions about their lives.
A Reaching Hand directly supports the education of children, youth, and adults. Some have completed National Diplomas; some are at University. Some have graduated in Higher Education.
We provide financial assistance to young adults and caregivers so that they can participate in skills training and certification programs that will increase their job prospects. We provide resources and tips on how to write effective résumés and help cover the cost of transportation to and from job interviews and training programs.
